'Ello one and all!

Welcome to ~ripperology (the study of Jack the Ripper), the Jack the Ripper enthusiasts community. I began this, in hopes of meeting other Ripperologists out there, and creating a community where all theories, speculations, and all those interested are welcome.

What this community is NOT:

-This community is not a place for people who are sexually obssessed with Jack the Ripper.

-This is not a place to put down other people's theories concerning the case.

-This is not for people who want to learn how to "become like Jack".

-A Johnny Depp "From Hell" community. (Yes, I love Johnny, and the movie, but THIS IS THE WRONG PLACE.)

What this community IS:

-A place where theories can be traded freely.

-A community for anyone interested in the infamous case (but please, this is not a "omg I'm like, soooo disgusted by Jack, like maybe I'll look cool if I join!" type of deal)

-A place for Jack the Ripper art to be faved and submitted (yes, you can submit your poems, prose, photos, drawings, etc.)

Well, lemme tell you a bit about myself.
My name is Merisa, I have an art account >> =tophattedtragedy and have been into the Jack the Ripper case since elementary school, and have been compiling casebooks, and spending loads of my own cash on all of the books I can find.. My friends call me obssessive, I just say it's a hobby of mine that I've had for a while. I began reading theory books, and I would like to say that that is NOT the place to start. I learned that the hard way. If you are new to the case, do NOT start with a book such as Patricia Cornwell's theory on Walter Sickert; buy a JTR encyclopedia, or the JTR companion to get the raw, impartial facts.
